Coventry City Football Club has reclaimed the title of Midlands Champions after a 2-1 victory over fierce rivals Leicester City at the King Power Stadium on Saturday night. The Sky Blues, who were playing in the third tier of English football for the first time in their 134-year history, came from behind to secure the win and their first piece of silverware since winning the FA Cup in 1987.

The game was level at 1-1 until the 70th minute when Coventry forward Callum Wilson scored a stunning winner from outside the box. The victory capped off an impressive season for the club, who won the League One title and earned promotion to the Championship.

The result also saw Coventry become the first team to win the Midlands Champions title since Leicester City did in 1992. The victory is a welcome boost for the club after their relegation from the Premier League in 2001 and their subsequent struggles in the lower divisions.

The win was also a sweet victory for manager Mark Robins, who was brought in to replace Steven Pressley in March last year. Robins has since overseen a remarkable turnaround in the club's fortunes, and the victory over Leicester City was the perfect way to end the season.

The result ensures that Coventry will once again be the pride of the Midlands and will be aiming to make an impression in the Championship next season.
